Each month, P&P SIG members try to guess SIG mascot Monte’s location in a “mystery photo” provided by SIG leadership team member Tricia Spayer, who takes Monte along on all her travels. Here is the answer to December’s contest:

Location: Hard Rock Cafe, Atlanta
Winner: Ann Marie Queeney, P&P SIG Treasurer

I’ve been to 13 Summits, three of which were in Atlanta!

I paused for a photo op outside of the Hard Rock Cafe, just steps away from the Summit venue. Several community leaders took a break from Leadership Day in 2009 to have a fun networking lunch.

It’s those moments outside of the Summit sessions where you get to know other STC members, who share stories, tribulations, and triumphs. These are the moments you remember for a long time.

Each month, P&P SIG members try to guess SIG mascot Monte’s location in a “mystery photo” provided by SIG leadership team member Tricia Spayer, who takes Monte along on all her travels. Here is the answer to November’s contest.

Location: Poorvo, Finland
Winner: Bobbi Werner, STC Treasurer and P&P SIG member

I got to travel on a cruise to the Baltic in 2011. One of my favorite ports was Helsinki, Finland, where some of Tricia’s ancestors were from (they actually lived in the arctic circle, but visiting Finland was cool!). Not only did we explore the beautiful city of Helsinki, we traveled a little East to the small town of Poorvo, which was founded way back in 1346! Wow! This town, with its cobblestone streets, was easy and fun to walk around and explore. One of the highlights was the cathedral which celebrates the maritime history of Finland.

The good news, however, is that the P&P SIG leadership team has added last month’s prize of $15 to this month’s prize so that whoever wins November’s contest will receive $30!

To participate:

1. Email the P&P SIG leadership with the location by September 30. NEW EXTENDED DEADLINE!
2. NEW! Look for clues posted on the STC P&P SIG Slack channel during the month.
3. The P&P SIG member who guesses the most precise location will win a $15 Amazon gift card. In the event of multiple submissions received with the same time stamp and/or the same location, the SIG leadership will hold a drawing to select the winner. Winners agree to have their name published in the following month’s newsletter.
4. To allow more members the opportunity to win, newsletter readers are limited to one win per quarter.
