The P&P SIG is excited to host a special interactive webinar on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. ET. Join Kelly Smith, John Clement, and Marilyn Woelk as they share an insider’s perspective on working with procedures in Business Continuity, Aerospace/Defense, and a Not-for-Profit Health Organization.
The P&P SIG leadership team is pleased to invite members of the STC Florida, Ohio, Michigan Great Lakes, and Rochester chapters as our guests. Please note: This program is intended to promote an informal discussion so it will not be recorded.
The webinar is free, but you must register to receive the link to the program.
The webinar will begin with our presenters providing a brief overview of their respective fields: Kelly (business continuity), John (aerospace/defense), and Marilyn (not-for-profit health organization). Kelly, John, and Marilyn will then host three twenty-minute informal breakout sessions. Good news: Sufficient time has been scheduled for attendees to participate in each presenter’s breakout session.
Here is a glimpse into some of the topics Kelly, John, and Marilyn will discuss:
Kelly Smith, Senior Technical Writer on the Business Continuity team at Dart Container, will discuss how she helps subject matter experts (SMEs) write their procedures for business continuity and disaster recovery. Business continuity procedures help the business units document how they would continue operations and deal with loss of technology, facility, or employees during a disaster. Disaster recovery procedures help the information technology department document how they would recover hardware and software after it has been affected by a disaster.
John Clement, Associate Technical Writer at L3Harris, works in the aerospace and defense industry. John will discuss how he collaborates with SMEs and edits their procedures, in addition to technical manuals and other documentation. John is also available to discuss the importance of internships for launching a successful tech comm career for those interested in that topic.
Marilyn Woelk, owner and president of Wingz Creative and Technical Group, Inc., will discuss how she worked with a national not-for-profit health organization to develop a policy process and policies for every area of the organization, which were uploaded to a Navex PolicyTech policy management system.
The P&P SIG leadership team looks forward to seeing you at our webinar!
